USA, Copy Editors Society Scholarships 2011.

Students who are graduating in 2010 and who have or will have full-time copy editing jobs or internships are a eligible. Among the criteria used by judges are commitment to copy editing as a career, work experience in copy editing and abilities in copy editing, as demonstrated by examples and recommendations.
The ACES Education Fund, an affiliate of the American Copy Editors Society, offers scholarships to juniors, seniors and grad students interested in careers in copy editing.

The top candidate will be awarded the $2,500 Aubespin scholarship, named for Merv Aubespin, a longtime journalist, a former president of the National Association of Black Journalists and the “godfather” of ACES. At least four other candidates will receive scholarships of $1,000 each. All the winners will be granted free registration for the ACES national conference in March 2011 in Phoenix. Some financial aid for winners to travel to the conference may be available as well.
