Applicants should have (a) a confirmed acceptance at the Harvard Kennedy School (b) an excellent academic record with a first degree equivalent to a good Second Class (Upper) Honors or higher or a GPA of at least 3.5; (c) a very good command of the English Language; (d) at least seven years full time relevant work experience; and (e) assessed to have outstanding potential for leadership in government, business, or civil society after graduation.

Languages Scholarship And American Scholarship Program

The scholarship program is administrated by Árni Magnússonar Institute for Icelandic Studies, Sigurdur Nordal Office. Approximately 15
scholarships are available for the period from September 1st 2011 to April 30th 2012.

Morphology, Syntax and Phonetics of Modern Icelandic
Scholarship Application Deadline: 1 March 2011

The scholarships are intended for students of language and literature. Students who have completed at least one or two academic years of university study and with some prior knowledge of Icelandic or other Nordic language will be given priority. Preference will, as a rule, be given to a candidate under 35 years of age.

 The students read both old and modern literature and learn about the history of Iceland from settlement to modern times. Additionally,
students are introduced to translations.

Icelandic for foreign students is comprised of both theoretical and practical fields of study. On the one hand it is a language course, where students are trained in speaking, reading and writing modern Icelandic.

On the other hand it delves into the more academic aspects of the Icelandic language, literature and history of Iceland.
Subjects covered include morphology, syntax and phonetics of modern Icelandic.

The European Master of Science Programme in International Health is a one year, full-time study programme taught in English excepted in Mexico (in spanish). The main objective of the programme is to raise awareness of current global health concerns. Post graduate Scholarship For Brilliant Students World Wide - The Dutch Minister of Education, Culture and Science has allocated seven million euros for excellent students coming to the Netherlands under the Huygens Scholarship Programme. There is no fixed number of available scholarships. The actual number is determined by the total cost of the variable components of the scholarships.If you want to take part in the HSP Huygens Programme, you must meet the following requirements:
• You are an excellent student: you have obtained excellent results in all your previous studies and you are in the top 10% of students in your study or research programme.

• At the start of the academic year (1 September) in which you study in the Netherlands, you must be no older than 35 years of age.

• The Dutch study programme should be registered in CROHO, the Central Register of Higher Education Programmes. You can find this information in the Dutch nomination letter provided by the Dutch host institution.

• You should be in the final phase of your bachelor’s studies, or studying towards a master’s degree in the Netherlands, and your study must be used primarily to earn a degree at the Dutch institution.

• If you are already a graduate, you must have graduated less than two years ago.

• Scholarships are only awarded for studies lasting at least 6 months, but no longer than 24 months.

• Your studies or research in the Netherlands must constitute a deepening and broadening of your previous studies.

Germany Practical Traineeships For Worldwide Students

Practical Trainee-ships and Study,  Country-specific information, dates and deadlines, application address and advice:
    * Precise information on when to submit applications is available from the National IAESTE Committee of the applicant's home country.
    * Students of the stated subjects interested in a training placement in Germany should address the National IAESTE Committee in their home country. Addresses of the National IAESTE Committees and further information are available via Internet www.iaeste.org.

Duration
Usually, traineeships are two to three months in duration with various firms, institutions of higher education and research institutes. In individual cases, traineeships of extended duration can be arranged.

Objective
Practical training placements for students of the above mentioned subjects are arranged by the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE). Placements are, however, only available to countries with a National IAESTE Committee. Within the DAAD, unit 514 is the German National IAESTE Committee.

Requirements

    * Specific information on conditions of eligibility is available from the National IAESTE Committee of the member country concerned.
    * Language Proficiency: Requirements regarding language proficiency of German differ greatly. Some companies require that international interns or trainees have good German language skills, while others only require a basic knowledge of German, as long as the intern or trainee also has good English language skills. In many cases a good knowledge of English is sufficient.
    * Training placements recruited in Germany are offered exclusively by the responsible National IAESTE Committee abroad, which in turn arranges placements for German university students. Apart from those offered via this route, the IAESTE programme has no other internship places available for individual applicants.

Value
Trainees are usually paid 650,-- euros per month; the DAAD, however, is not able to grant additional funds to cover travel costs.

Switzerland Research Program In Technology And Science For Undergraduate Students

The Summer Research Program in Life Sciences and Technology at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), will offer an intensive research training opportunity to 25 undergraduate students interested in research careers in life sciences. This program will run from July 4th to August 26th 2011. (Earlier or later arrivals and departures can be arranged on a case-by-case basis between individual group leaders and participating students, however the student must be present for the core 8 weeks of the program. Any additional charges incurred by the change of dates must be covered by the student and/or lab.).
Each participant will be required to submit a formal written report and present the results of their research at a student symposium held at the end of the program which provides an opportunity for participants to experience presenting their data to their peers and the scientific community at the EPFL.

Selection Criteria
The summer research fellowships will be awarded on a competitive basis taking into consideration several criteria including the student's academic record, personal statements and letters of recommendation.

 eligibility criteria:
• Applicants MUST first submit a research degree study application form and be in receipt of a University BANNER ID Number to be eligible for a Fully-Funded International Research Scholarship. Applications without a valid University ID Number will be rejected.
These awards are only available to applicants who would be liable to pay academic fees at the full international fee rate;
• Applicants must normally hold a First Degree at undergraduate level equivalent to at least a UK First Class
Honours degree and should be considered to be the ‘best of the best’ (eg, applicants should be demonstrably in the top 20% of their cohort). Applicants should either have graduated with the appropriate First Degree or be in their final year of study;
